SWITCH TO ZERO PLASTIC DRYING TODAY

Natural Chamois Leather contains Zero Microplastics. When produced correctly it’s a natural, eco-friendly product, that’s both sustainable and completely biodegradable. It also happens to be the finest material you can use to dry your car!

Microfibre cloths are made from microplastics, sadly these cloths have been independently proven to shed microplastics under normal washing conditions. (*1).

Microplastics are plastics that are smaller than 5mm in length and can be very harmful to the environment, especially the biodiversity of oceans, due to their small size.  In reality, most microplastics are smaller than 5mm and are under 300μm in length.

Scientists have discovered microplastics throughout the ocean food chain, for example in small shrimp and molluscs, inside fish and now even in larger animals such as walrus in the Arctic. It has also recently been discovered that microplastics carry and spread harmful bacteria, which is causing untold damage to essential ocean reefs.

Sadly Microfibre cloths are contributing to this global issue.  When you wash your car with a microfibre cloth, microplastics are released into your wash water.  Wash water very often runs directly into storm drains.  From here microplastics are fed into streams and rivers and out into the ocean. Even in the few cases where water is returned to treatment plants, most microplastics are not captured due to their small size of under 300μm.

In short, microplastics are a serious global issue and many industries are now addressing this problem.  The cosmetics industry for example are removing microplastics from many of their products.

We believe that cleaning and drying cloths should also become microplastic free and we believe public opinion is also moving in this direction.

For generations, Natural Chamois has been a genuine and proven eco drying alternative!
